For Christmas I think gray is the way to go, too. Although I think for spring, pink or creme frilly skirts are super cute and whimsical. That is awesome that you can make that! Be sure to post pictures!
I've had some great success with chiffon at JoAnns. I made chloe a tutu for her first birthday (coming up!) and I used shades of off-white and a bit of very pale pink with an off-white satin. I'm also impressed that they have chiffons that add a bit of sparkle with glue dots that look like little crystals...i used just a bit of this to add a little sparkle to the skirt. I'll show some photos after her bday. can't wait to see what you come up with!

I love love this blog! It is so insprational! Julie, I would go with pinks too if it is for the spring, so cute for either/both of your girls!!
